What is a contributer form?
A short-form agreement between a TV producer and a person who is making a minor contribution to a programme, designed to be easy to use during the course of production, and to be signed at short notice.
Why is it important?
Contributor consent forms (contributor release forms) can formalise the consent process and prove copyright in a contribution. They are short documents that production teams should use particularly where a contribution is significant. They should normally be signed before the contribution is recorded. The forms usually set out brief details about the programme and nature of the contribution, legal matters such as copyright and re using recorded material and a privacy notice.
